About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The purpose of the WEF is to provide information that has practical significance for the workforce, career and technical education professionals and serve as a forum in which critical issues from the field may be raised, discussed or debated. Publication Frequency
Workforce Education Forum is published twice a year. Once in the spring and once in the fall. Spring submissions should be received by October 1. Fall submissions should be received by April 1.
Journal History
The Workforce Education Forum (WEF) began in 1971 as the Occupational Education Forum (OEF) by the Alpha (Penn State) Chapter of Iota Lambda Sigma (ILS), the Professional Industrial Education Fraternity. Leadership of OEF/WEF has been and continues to be, provided by the graduates of industrial, vocational, or workforce education programs at Penn State. The WEF is affiliated with, and receives support from, the Professional Personnel Development Center
(PPDC) in the Workforce Education and Development Program at Penn State, as well as the OEF/WEF endowment fund. A historical account of the first 25 years of the OEF/WEF can be found in the Spring, 1998 issue of the WEF.
The Workforce Education Forum reaches an international readership. UNESCO and Australia's National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER)include the WEF in an international database for research in technical and vocational education and training (http://www.voced.edu.au).
Our subscribers include individuals and libraries from as far away as Finland and Taiwan and as nearby as Canada and 18 U.S. states. Likewise, the WEF has a long tradition of influence and support from relevant international authors.
The WEF publishes two issues annually. A double-blind review is used to evaluate the quality of submitted manuscripts. Approximately 66%of submitted manuscripts are published.
